Head of Pricing | Automotive Retail | Hybrid
Alderson James is partnering with a leading UK automotive retailer to appoint a Head of Pricing. This is a senior commercial role with ownership of pricing strategy across a large, fast-moving portfolio of used vehicles.
The opportunity is to shape how vehicles are priced from purchase through to sale: balancing margin, speed of sale and stock risk while moving the business towards a more automated, data-driven pricing model.
What you’ll lead
- Set and refine pricing strategy, governance and commercial targets.
- Scale automated pricing so specialists can focus on the vehicles that need their judgement.
- Build dashboards and forecasts that make pricing performance clear and actionable.
- Lead and develop a team of pricing specialists and analysts.
- Work closely with buying, marketing and operational teams on stock mix, allocation and performance.
- Present pricing decisions and results to senior leaders and external partners.

You’ll bring strong analytical and commercial judgement, experience leading a team, and a track record of implementing or scaling algorithmic pricing or a data-driven portfolio capability. Automotive experience is welcome, but we are equally interested in people from travel, hospitality, e-commerce, ride-hailing or other sectors with dynamic demand and complex pricing decisions.

Location: Hybrid, with three days per week across Gillingham, Wimbledon or Camberley, particularly during the first 6–12 months.
