Head of Private Client
Lincolnshire | Up to £75,000 + benefits
Are you an experienced Private Client Solicitor looking for the opportunity to lead an established department and play a key role in shaping its future?
I'm working with a well-established regional law firm looking to appoint a Head of Private Client to lead and develop its wills and probate offering across Lincolnshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious private client lawyer looking to take on a senior leadership position, combining hands-on legal work with departmental management, business development and the opportunity to influence the firm's future direction.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the private client department, overseeing a varied caseload while providing leadership, strategic direction and support to the wider team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing the private client department, driving its continued growth and success
- Managing a varied caseload covering wills, probate, estate administration, trusts, inheritance tax planning and powers of attorney
- Advising clients on complex estate planning and succession matters, building long-term relationships and delivering an excellent standard of client service
- Supporting, mentoring and developing colleagues within the team
- Identifying opportunities to grow the department, strengthen referral networks and generate new business
- Working closely with the wider management team to contribute to the firm's strategic objectives

About You
- A qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with substantial experience in private client law
- A strong technical background across wills, probate, trusts, estate administration and inheritance tax planning
- Previous experience in a senior, supervisory or departmental leadership role, or the ambition and capability to take that next step
- Commercially aware, with the ability to develop client relationships and identify opportunities for growth
- A confident communicator who can provide leadership while remaining approachable and hands-on
- Someone looking to make a meaningful contribution to a well-established regional practice
