About us
Westminster Law is a well-established and rapidly expanding estate planning and will writing brand, serving clients across England and Wales.
Nationwide Law is Westminster Law's SRA-regulated legal partner: a connected, separately SRA regulated law firm. We act for members of the public directly and for estate planning firms, who both introduce and instruct us.
We are entering a period of significant growth, and building Nationwide Law is the priority.
About the role
First and foremost, we are looking for a business-minded leader: someone who wants to build and grow a firm, not just run a caseload.
As Head of Private Client and the firm's COLP, you will be one of the leaders driving the growth we are planning from now on, working alongside our other Directors to shape where and how we expand across England and Wales.
You will stay hands-on, advising on, drafting and completing work yourself, while running the department and developing the team.
The role is fully remote for now, with offices to follow where it makes sense.
Key responsibilities
Growth and leadership
- Be one of the leaders driving the firm's growth, working alongside the other Directors to expand across England and Wales.
- Build strong relationships with the estate planning firms that introduce and instruct us.
- Help design the processes, systems and team the firm needs to scale.
- Lead the private client department, setting the standard for quality, turnaround and client service.
- Supervise, mentor and develop trainees and paralegals.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
