We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Head of Pro Bono to lead our global Pro Bono programme and drive the next phase of its growth and impact.

You can work from any of our UK offices including London, Bristol, Manchester, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen.

We will also consider full time or part time at 4 days per week.

About The Role

You will lead the development and delivery of the firm’s global Pro Bono strategy, increasing our impact, strengthening community and client partnerships, and embedding Pro Bono across the firm.

  • Develop and deliver an ambitious firm wide Pro Bono Strategy, setting a clear vision and strategic direction aligned with the firm’s overall strategy, priorities and ESG ambitions.
  • Lead the firm’s Pro Bono programme globally, developing an effective operating model and ensuring strong governance, risk management and high-quality delivery.
  • Provide oversight and supervision of Pro Bono legal work, supporting lawyers and ensuring matters are delivered to appropriate professional and quality standards.
  • Embed Pro Bono across the firm, building a strong culture of participation and ensuring it is integrated into relevant business, client and people priorities.
  • Develop strategic Pro Bono partnerships with clients, identifying opportunities to collaborate on shared priorities and increase collective impact.
  • Build strong relationships with partners, charities and community organisations to develop strategic Pro Bono opportunities.
  • Drive innovation in Pro Bono delivery, including new approaches to client collaboration and technology-enabled solutions.
  • Build engagement across the firm, supporting and advising lawyers and working closely with our Pro Bono Champions and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop meaningful measures of success and use data, reporting and storytelling to demonstrate the impact of our Pro Bono work.
  • Monitor emerging trends and best practice in Pro Bono, ensuring the firm continues to develop an ambitious, innovative and market-leading programme.
  • Work closely with ESG and Social Impact colleagues to maximise our collective impact for communities.

About You

  • A qualified solicitor with significant experience in Pro Bono, ESG or Social Impact within a legal or professional services environment. Experience supervising or overseeing legal work and a strong commitment to using Pro Bono to deliver meaningful social impact.
  • A credible and influential leader, able to build support at senior levels and inspire engagement with Pro Bono across the firm.
  • A strategic thinker who can set a clear vision, align Pro Bono with wider firm priorities, bring stakeholders with them and translate ambition into practical delivery and measurable impact.
  • Strong experience of developing and delivering strategy and leading organisational change.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels.
  • Commercially aware, innovative and collaborative, with excellent project management and communication skills.
