What will this role achieve?

The Head of Process Excellence will lead the development and deployment of best-in-class process management across R&D and manufacturing, driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency, waste reduction, and technical capability. This role will shape the process excellence strategy for UK&I, embedding Lean Six Sigma, statistical process control, and robust trial design to improve performance, unlock productivity, and support the successful implementation of new assets, technologies, and ways of working.

What will be your key deliverables?

  • Strategic leadership: Develop and execute a process excellence strategy aligned to UK&I business priorities, productivity ambitions, and R&D technical roadmaps.
  • Continuous improvement: Lead the use of Lean Six Sigma tools to assess current processes, identify inefficiencies, and deliver sustainable improvement across quality, cost, capacity, and waste.
  • SPC and data-led performance: Embed statistical process control and performance management routines to improve process capability, reduce variation, and enable better decision-making.
  • Technical DOE leadership: Partner with engineering, operations, and site teams to design experiments that optimise machinery settings, process parameters, and new technology integration.
  • Cross-functional delivery: Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, and R&D teams to align priorities and deliver process improvement initiatives at pace.
  • Capability building: Establish and oversee training programmes that strengthen capability in Lean Six Sigma, SPC, root cause analysis, trial design, and continuous improvement.
  • Waste reduction: Identify and eliminate waste in all forms, including overproduction, waiting, transport, extra processing, inventory, motion, and defects.
  • Executive reporting: Define KPIs, track benefits, and present progress, risks, and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a clear, evidence-based way.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
