Head of Procurement – Indirect / Generalist
Location: London | Hybrid (2/3 days per week)
We’re partnering with a prestigious, globally recognised organisation to appoint a Head of Procurement to lead a broad portfolio of indirect spend across the business.
This is a senior, highly business-facing procurement leadership role, with responsibility for shaping commercial strategy, influencing major investment decisions and driving measurable value across a diverse range of spend categories.
Rather than sitting as a traditional procurement function, the role will act as a strategic commercial partner to senior leadership, bringing market insight, commercial challenge and procurement expertise into key business decisions.
The Role
- Lead procurement strategy across a broad, enterprise-wide portfolio of indirect spend, such as: logistics, professional services, marketing etc.
- Partner closely with Executive and senior leadership teams across the organisation.
- Develop and execute commercial and category strategies across multiple spend areas.
- Lead and oversee major sourcing programmes, complex negotiations and strategic supplier decisions.
- Challenge demand, investment cases and existing supplier arrangements to identify opportunities for greater value.
- Drive measurable savings, cost avoidance and wider commercial value.
- Strengthen supplier governance, SRM and commercial performance across strategic partners.
- Improve visibility and management of commercial, contractual and supplier risk.
- Establish effective procurement governance, frameworks, tools and reporting.
- Build procurement capability across the organisation and embed procurement as a trusted strategic partner.
- Support the continued evolution of the procurement operating model across a complex global business.

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an established senior procurement leader with a genuinely broad/generalist indirect procurement background. This role will be hands on, and the successful candidate must be happy leading on projects, as part of a small team.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Significant procurement leadership experience within a large, complex organisation.
- Broad category exposure across indirect spend, rather than a narrow category specialism.
- A strong track record of delivering significant commercial value and savings.
- Experience leading complex sourcing programmes and high-value negotiations.
- Excellent senior stakeholder management, ideally operating at Executive/C-suite level.
- Strong supplier management, commercial governance and risk management experience.
- Experience developing or transforming procurement functions, operating models or ways of working.
- The ability to challenge senior stakeholders constructively while operating successfully in a highly relationship-led environment.
- Experience within a global or international organisation would be advantageous.
