Head of Procurement
£80,000 - £90,000 + Benefits
Location: London | Hybrid Working
A leading real estate and industrial business is seeking a commercially minded Head of Procurement to lead the next phase of its procurement transformation journey.
Having successfully established a modern procurement function, delivered significant cost savings and embedded strong procurement governance across the organisation, the business is now looking for an experienced procurement professional to build on these foundations and drive the next stage of maturity.
This is not a traditional procurement leadership role. The successful individual will combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, partnering with senior stakeholders to influence commercial decisions, optimise supplier relationships, manage risk and deliver long-term value across a substantial third-party spend portfolio.
The Opportunity
Reporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership of procurement strategy, supplier performance and commercial value creation across the organisation.
The procurement function has been established, is now well-regarded and in demand across the business. The focus now is on enhancing capability, developing category management and supplier relationship management approaches, improving visibility of spend and continuing to drive commercial value.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Developing and delivering the organisation's procurement strategy
- Leading strategic sourcing initiatives and complex commercial negotiations
- Delivering measurable cost savings, cost avoidance and wider commercial benefits
- Partnering with business leaders to challenge demand and improve commercial decision-making
- Strengthening supplier relationship management and supplier performance frameworks
- Developing procurement category strategies across a broad range of spend areas
- Supporting procurement technology and source-to-pay transformation initiatives
- Improving spend visibility, governance and reporting
- Enabling business functions to manage appropriate procurement activity whilst ensuring effective controls remain in place
- Building strong relationships with Finance, Legal and operational stakeholders

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
