Head of Procurement

We are currently recruiting for a Head of Procurement to work on a 3 month initial contract for a busy Local Authority.

Role Overview

As Head of Procurement you will lead the corporate procurement, contracts and commercial assurance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • In this strategic leadership role, you'll drive procurement excellence across the council, ensuring compliance, value for money and social value while supporting the delivery of the business Plan.
  • You'll work closely with Members, senior leaders and partners to modernise procurement, strengthen commercial capability and identify opportunities for innovation and savings.

Requirements

We're seeking an inspiring leader with significant experience of procurement and commercial management in a large, complex organisation, a strong understanding of public procurement legislation, and the ability to influence at the highest levels. An MCIPS qualification (or equivalent expertise) is desirable.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid Based - Ideally 3 days in the office and 2 days from home (negotiable)

Inside IR35 paid via an umbrella company
