Head of Procurement
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Procurement based in United Kingdom.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to build a global procurement function from the ground up within a rapidly scaling international business. You will take ownership of procurement strategy, supplier relationships, and commercial negotiations across a global connectivity operation spanning more than 200 destinations. The role will directly influence profitability by optimizing supplier spend while protecting service quality, reliability, and business continuity. You will lead complex telecom partnerships and establish the frameworks, policies, and governance needed to scale procurement effectively. Working closely with senior cross-functional stakeholders, you will connect procurement priorities with broader product and growth objectives. This is an ideal opportunity for a strategic procurement leader who thrives on building new functions, creating scalable processes, and operating in a fast-moving global environment.
Accountabilities
- Build and lead the global procurement strategy from the ground up, ensuring it supports rapid international expansion and broader business objectives.
- Lead high-value negotiations with telecom and connectivity partners to secure competitive pricing, strong service levels, favorable contractual terms, and reliable performance across markets.
- Establish company-wide procurement policies, processes, and vendor risk frameworks that provide clear governance as the organization scales.
- Analyze and optimize global supplier spend, identifying opportunities for sustainable cost savings without compromising service quality or customer experience.
- Develop and implement supplier performance metrics to monitor reliability, quality, commercial performance, and service levels across a network spanning more than 200 destinations.
- Build scalable vendor management workflows that improve supplier accountability, visibility, and long-term relationship management.
- Partner with finance, product, operations, and other senior stakeholders to align procurement priorities with strategic business and product goals.
- Develop procurement processes that can support increasing operational complexity, international expansion, and a growing supplier ecosystem.
- Provide strategic leadership on supplier risk, commercial opportunities, and procurement decisions, ensuring recommendations are supported by sound financial and operational analysis.
- Establish procurement as a strategic business function that contributes directly to profitability, resilience, and sustainable growth.

Requirements:
- More than 5 years of relevant procurement leadership experience, ideally gained within a fast-growing scale-up, technology company, or similarly dynamic environment.
- Proven experience building procurement functions, frameworks, policies, and vendor management processes from the ground up.
- Strong expertise in international contract negotiations, particularly for complex services and strategic supplier relationships.
- Experienced in financial analysis and can assess complex commercial agreements, supplier costs, pricing structures, and potential savings opportunities.
- Strong leadership capabilities and enjoy designing scalable processes that can evolve with a rapidly growing organization.
- A strategic thinker who can balance cost optimization with quality, reliability, risk management, and long-term business objectives.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with senior stakeholders and translating procurement priorities into broader business outcomes.
- Experience in telecom, connectivity, or SaaS environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of international vendor compliance and cross-border operations is a plus.
- Proactive, commercially minded, and comfortable taking ownership of a function with significant autonomy.
