👋 About Us

Every year, hundreds of thousands of homeowners could move but don't, and homes that could sell never reach the market. The property market is slower and more closed than it should be. Homesearch is building the intelligence layer that gets it moving, connecting people, homes and agents through data and AI. Our vision is a fully connected, faster, more open property market.

We're one of the UK's leading PropTech platforms for estate agents, helping them win more listings, understand their local market, and turn existing contacts into new instructions. Our products, including HAILO and ReContact, are picking up real momentum and fast becoming tools agents know and trust. We're a trusted partner to Reapit, Dezrez, Rex, MRI and other leading CRMs, and we're on our way to One Homesearch: a single, unified platform rather than a collection of tools. We're a team of around 40, backed by Octopus Ventures.

💼 About the Role

Product at Homesearch has been founder-led so far, and it's taken us a long way: strong data, strong engineering, products agents want. We've grown by building a lot. Five products, five logins, five data sets. What we need now is someone to own product properly, decide the direction, and lead the team that builds it.

This role brings product and engineering leadership together, which we believe is where these roles are heading. You'll set the product strategy and you'll lead the engineering team: their work, their development, how we deliver. We have an engineering lead who owns the technical side and architecture, so you're not being asked to be a CTO. You're being asked to decide what we build and why, and to lead the people building it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll work closely with Giles, our founder, and you'll be building the product function as you go. That means hiring your first Product Manager early, setting the standards, and establishing how product works here. A contract product person is already underway on a scoped project and will report to you.

🔥 What You'll Do

  • Own product strategy: what we build, why, in what order, and what we deliberately don't.
  • Lead the engineering team on the people and delivery side. One to ones, progression, accountability, making sure we ship.
  • Turn five products into one coherent direction the whole company understands.
  • Diagnose what's actually getting in the way across product and engineering in your first 30 days, while taking over the team.
  • Build the product function. Hire your first Product Manager, set how product works here.
  • Work closely with Giles and the leadership team, bringing independent judgement and challenging with evidence.
  • Partner with our engineering lead on the technical side, and across data, design, sales and customer success.

😊 About You

  • You've owned product strategy. Not been adjacent to it, not run someone else's roadmap. This is the thing we most need.
  • You've led people, and you want to. You're comfortable being accountable for a team's performance and development, and you don't see management as the tax on the strategy job.
  • You're strategic. You can hold a messy set of ideas and turn them into one direction people can follow.
  • You're a really clear communicator. It's an important part of this role, and we're looking for a true leader.
  • You're technical enough to be credible. You can follow the conversation, challenge an estimate and earn the team's respect. You don't need to be writing code.
  • You've worked in startups or scale-ups, and you're used to growth environments.
  • You've worked in B2B SaaS. A mix of B2B and B2C is genuinely useful given where we're going.
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity and you move quickly through it rather than waiting for it to clear.
  • You're kind and collaborative, and you bring enough authority that people follow the direction you set.
