We’re Europe’s leading independent rail platform, helping millions of travellers find and book the best-value rail and coach journeys across our app, website and partner channels.

Our job is to make the green travel choice the best choice. By building a better train travel experience, we help more people choose rail - creating a positive impact for customers, our business and the planet.

We’re a team of more than 1,000 Trainliners from over 50 nationalities, working across London, Paris, Barcelona, Milan, Edinburgh and Madrid. Now is a brilliant time to join us and help shape the future of travel.

Introducing the Trainline Partner Solutions Team 👋

Trainline Partner Solutions (TPS) is building the world's number one rail platform - giving partners everything they need to grow rail by making it simpler to access, sell, service, and scale, so more travellers choose rail with confidence. TPS powers the technology that enables Travel Management Companies (TMCs), Online Booking Tools (OBTs), and other distribution partners across the UK and Europe to sell and manage rail travel seamlessly.

This role sits at the heart of that mission, leading the product strategy for TPS Distribution within B2B. Reporting into the Product Director, you will own the product vision and P&L accountability for distribution, working in close partnership with Sales and Account Management to maximise revenue from existing partners and identify new commercial opportunities. Your key stakeholders span Data Science, UX, Engineering, and Commercial Finance, and you will lead a team of four Product Managers, with direct line management responsibility for three of them.

In This Role as the Head of Product - TPS Distribution, You Will...

  • Own the end-to-end product vision and roadmap for TPS Distribution, ensuring it is grounded in partner value, commercial outcomes, and long-term platform health across the UK and European markets.
  • Take accountability for the distribution P&L, using data and commercial insight to prioritise what gets built, when, and why - balancing revenue growth with partner retention.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Account Management organisation to ensure product strategy actively supports partner acquisition, retention, and revenue performance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Managers, building strong product craft, clear ownership, and a high standard of execution across the portfolio.
  • Establish AI-native ways of working across the team - embedding modern tooling, setting standards for how AI accelerates discovery, delivery, and decision-making, and ensuring the team operates at the leading edge of product practice.
  • Partner with Engineering, Data Science, UX, and Commercial Finance to deliver scalable, reliable distribution products that meet the needs of TMCs, OBTs, and other partners.
  • Represent Product in commercial and partner discussions, acting as a credible voice on capability, roadmap, and strategic direction with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive a culture of clear prioritisation, evidence-based decisions, and continuous improvement - ensuring the team is always working on what matters most.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
