About the Role
As Head of Product, Business, you'll act as a mini-CEO for our Business Investor vertical, responsible for its growth (customers and AUM), profitability, and long-term success.
You'll define product vision and strategy, own the roadmap end-to-end, and lead cross-functional execution to shape the UK’s most compelling, easy-to-use platform for SMEs. This mission includes:
- Helping businesses manage cash and investments with confidence
- Enabling tax-efficient investment strategies
- Providing value-added services
- Driving sustainable growth in customers, assets under management (AUM), and contribution margin

You’ll collaborate across multiple disciplines (Engineering, Data, Marketing, Operations, Risk & Compliance, Finance, senior leadership) while retaining full ownership of every level—from strategy to measurable business impact.
Your Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Vision
- Define a 3-year vision, informed by:
- Deep SME customer needs
- Market opportunities
- Competitive benchmarks
- Articulate the 12-month strategy and go-to-market position for the Business proposition.
Commercial Growth

Own customer growth, AUM under management, revenue, contribution margin, and overall business metrics with Finance.

Establish, refine, and track OKRs and KPIs across the following:
- Acquisitions
- Activation & onboarding
- AUM growth
- Retention
- Customer satisfaction (NPS/CSAT)
- Operational performance
Product Discovery & Innovation
- Conduct customer research, usability testing, market analysis, and data reviews to prioritise high-impact opportunities.
- Translate findings into a customer-centric roadmap, structured with:
- Hypotheses for each initiative
- Clear prioritisation logic
- Sequenced execution plan

Delivery & Execution
- Lead skeleton teams with hands-on experience, including:
- Translating insights into minimum viable product (MVP) scope.
- Unblocking execution risks.
- Balancing latest innovation with current win rates.
- Ensure the team frequent, iterative delivery while keeping performance rigorous.
Monetisation & Partnerships
- Design, test, and optimise pricing models and monetisation strategies aligned with:
- Customer value
- Competitiveness
- Profitability targets
- Regulatory constraints.
- Identify, evaluate, and execute strategic partnerships that drive:
- Ecosystem value for SME customers
- Account expansion
- Product differentiation
Team Leadership
- Build a high-performing product organisation, evolving its structure as InvestEngine’s scale demands:
- Hire, coach, and develop talent.
- Establish clear kingdom boundaries and division of labour.
Operating Rhythms
- Define dictum, information sharing, and accountability processes:
- Regular operating cadences
- Escalation channels
- Performance dashboards
- Operative governance
Risk Management
Partner with Compliance, Legal, Risk & Operations to ensure new propositions balance customer experience with regulatory safety.
Experience & Culture Fit
Required
- 5+ years of senior product leadership, demonstrable ownership of results including:
- Customer acquisition metrics
- Revenue lift
- AUM retention/remarketing/growth outcomes
- Proven experience building products for SME segments within:
- Wealth management
- Investments
- Banking
- Payments
- Accounting
- Strategic acumen matched by execution discipline—a comfort zone with "problem-solution delivery".
- Commercial nous:
- Deep familiarity with pricing, unit economics, and profitability analysis.
- Ability to optimise for product-market fit under constraints.
- Hands-on scaling product teams, e.g:
- Cross-functional leadership
- Root-cause problem resolution
- Stakeholder management across:
- Engineering
- Data teams
- Operations
- Finance
- Bespoke fintech 패스이다 or a regulatory mindset balancing AI’s opportunities with risk mitigation principles.
- English fluency (C1 or higher) essential for remote collaboration with the UK team.
