Role Overview
Are you looking to work for an organisation that manufactures products used to save life in real time! Have you got experience of taking products from concept through testing and regulatory approval and all the way into full scale manufacturing and beyond?

Duties
- Lead a team of scientists and engineers developing new medical devices.
- Decide which projects should be prioritised and ensure they stay on track.
- Design and oversee laboratory testing to make sure products are safe, effective, and meet regulatory requirements.
- Solve technical problems when products don't perform as expected.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs teams to gain approvals.
- Ensure products can be manufactured reliably and cost-effectively.
- Manage external partners such as universities, testing laboratories, and suppliers.
- Report progress, risks, and recommendations to senior management.
- Work closely alongside the commercial team in order to ensure rollout of the products are sustainable

Your Background
- Degree educated (preferably MSc or PhD) in Biochemistry, Chemistry or Materials Science
- Several years experience of managing medical device products
- Successfully taken products from concept to commercial launch
- Understands medical device regulations (ISO 13485, ISO 14971, MDR, FDA etc)
- Has managed scientists, engineers or technical teams
- Can balance technical with commercial decisions
