We’re building Housr to make life easier for students living off campus, from finding somewhere to live to accessing the services, offers and experiences around them.
We’ve reached $10m ARR and raised a $10m Series A to support our growth. As we expand across the UK and North America, we’re looking for a Head of Product to lead our growing product team and shape what we build next.
As our Head of Product you will…
- Work closely with Ben, our CTO, to turn company goals into product strategy, decide where to focus and give the team a clear plan for delivery.
- Lead and develop our product managers, work closely with Design and Engineering, and keep colleagues across the UK and US informed.
- Challenge assumptions, improve how we work and take ownership of decisions that currently sit with our CTO.
- Initially, manage two PMs and eventually our Product Designer.
- The role is based in Manchester, ideally four days in the office. Some flexibility may be considered for candidates nearby who can provide consistent in-person leadership.

- We currently share engineering capacity between the UK and US, which makes prioritisation and clear communication particularly important.
- There’s an existing planning rhythm, from annual goals through to quarterly priorities and sprints. You’ll help improve it, build a stronger habit of using customer insight and product data, and shape how the team develops as we move towards regional squads around each market’s needs.

What you’ll own
- Product strategy and roadmap priorities, developed with our CTO around the company’s commercial goals.
- Clear decisions about what to build, defer or stop, balancing value, timing and capacity.
- Management and coaching of product managers, with clear expectations, feedback and accountability, and regular one-to-ones.
- Regular customer discovery and product analysis, including funnels, conversion and engagement, using Mixpanel.
- Consistent stakeholder updates, clear commitments and follow-through when priorities or delivery dates change, including feedback when work launches.
- Close collaboration with Design and Engineering on scope, feasibility and sequencing.
- Practical improvements to planning, delivery and how the team measures results.
- Clear product ownership across our UK and US markets as the team grows.
What we’re looking for
- You’ve owned product direction and delivery in a growing business, with clear examples of the decisions you made and their commercial impact.
- Relevant experience with marketplaces and consumer mobile apps.
- Direct management of product managers, helping them develop and addressed gaps in performance.
- Clear communication, handling difficult trade-offs and follow through on commitments, even when plans change.
- Use of customer feedback and product data to guide priorities and understand outcomes, with practical examples from launches.
- Comfortable making decisions independently, while knowing when to involve others.
- Work well with engineers and designers, ask useful questions about feasibility and keep the team focused on the customer problem.

A real nice to have
- Experience bringing AI features into a live product, with a practical understanding of their value and limitations.
- PropTech experience or familiarity with student housing and the wider rental market.
- Technical experience that helps you discuss dependencies, delivery effort and sensible implementation choices with engineers.
