Overview
A globally recognised, market-leading consumer business is hiring a Head of Orchestration and Personalisation. The role is remote-first with roughly one day a week in the office near Watford, and the business will wait up to six months for the right person, which says something about how seriously they are taking this hire.
This role exists because the business knows it could be doing personalisation significantly better. You will own the intelligence layer that sits underneath the customer experience: understanding which data signals predict buying behaviour, building the strategy for how that intelligence gets packaged, and ensuring it flows cleanly to the product, marketing, and channel teams who act on it. You are not owning the UX or the marketing execution. Think of it less as a traditional product leadership role and more like being the product owner of the decisioning engine that everyone else consumes. You will manage a team of 6-8 product managers and work cross-functionally across a complex, multi-market business to drive alignment and results.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the personalisation and orchestration strategy across 4+ channels, defining how the business uses data signals to deliver the right offer to the right customer at the right moment
- Lead the development and evolution of the Concierge intelligence layer, including next-best-action decisioning logic
- Define which data signals drive customer buying behaviour and build the product strategy for how that intelligence is captured, structured, and delivered to execution teams
- Drive AI agent orchestration across the business, working with platforms such as ChatGPT and Google AI
- Lead and develop a team of 6-8 product managers, providing strategic direction and clear product ownership
- Work cross-functionally with data, marketing, and channel teams to ensure the intelligence layer is understood, trusted, and acted upon
- Build and maintain stakeholder alignment across a multi-market organisation without inherited authority

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Requirements
Must-haves:
- Proven track record of personally driving personalisation strategy that demonstrably increased sales, not just managing the roadmap around it
- Experience as a senior product leader owning a data-delivery or API-type product, where the output is intelligence consumed by other teams and systems
- Strong understanding of which data signals predict customer behaviour and how to translate that into decisioning logic
- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional alignment and bring sceptical stakeholders along through conviction and evidence, not just seniority
- Experience managing and developing a team of product managers

Nice-to-haves:
- Exposure to AI agent orchestration or next-best-action frameworks
- Experience operating across multiple markets or within a large, complex consumer business
- Familiarity with orchestration across four or more channels
What Success Looks Like
- A clear, well-evidenced personalisation strategy is in place within the first few months, with stakeholder buy-in across the business
- Data signals that predict customer buying behaviour are identified, mapped, and understood at a strategic level
- Clean, reliable intelligence is flowing to the product, marketing, and channel teams who need it to execute
- Decisioning logic is live, tested, and demonstrably moving sales numbers
- The team of product managers has clear direction and strong strategic leadership
Challenges
- This is a new role with no established playbook. You will need to walk in with enough battle-tested experience to lead from conviction and bring the organisation with you
- Getting cross-functional alignment across a complex, multi-market business requires persistence and credibility, not just good ideas
- The personalisation capability exists but is underdeveloped. You will be building the strategic map and raising the bar, not inheriting a finished system
