As Head of Payment, reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, you will own and scale the financial infrastructure powering Malt at a global level. Operating at the crossroad of Product, Tech, Legal, and Finance, your mission is to unlock international growth while optimizing our unique payment model to offer a seamless experience to our Community & Clients. This is a sophisticated scaling challenge: managing complex B2B liquidity flows while ensuring the user experience remains effortless. We are looking for an ambitious, collaborative leader who views complex payment systems as a primary driver of strategic business growth.

Key Responsibilities ✹

  • Define and execute the vision for Malt's payment architecture and 3rd parties dependencies. Introducing geographic scale and enabling commercial expansion to support the growth of new business lines.
  • Act as the primary bridge combining Finance, Legal, and Tech teams to build a great transactional experience for all sides of the marketplace, with a scalable operational model and the appropriate integration with Finance tools and processes.
  • Own product benchmarking and exploration of payment methods, new PSPs assessment.
  • Drive the strategy and roadmap to facilitate seamless multi-currency, cross-border marketplace transactions while scaling enterprise billing integrations globally.
  • Transform our cash advance model and factoring partner setups to limit transaction risk at the source.
  • Collaborate with Treasury and Financing Operations to protect working capital while expanding our core freelance financing value proposition.
  • Serve as the functional referent for international payment compliance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) standards, and localized marketplace regulations across all active regions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
