About the Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced and commercially focused Head of Product Technology to lead the development, delivery and continuous evolution of Amberjack's software solutions for the end-to-end talent market.
This is a strategic yet hands-on leadership role for a modern technology leader who can combine deep software engineering expertise with strong delivery capability, commercial awareness and a practical approach to AI-enabled innovation.
You'll lead a blended engineering function spanning architecture, development, quality assurance and outsourced technology partners. Working closely with Product, Commercial and Operations, you'll shape technical direction, strengthen engineering maturity and ensure our platforms remain scalable, secure, reliable and ready for the future.
Engineering Leadership and Delivery
- Lead the end-to-end engineering function across internal teams and outsourced technology partners
- Oversee scalable, secure and reliable software delivery, embedding strong SDLC, quality, governance and performance standards
Team Leadership and Partnership
- Lead, mentor and develop a blended engineering, architecture and QA function across multiple locations
- Build accountable supplier relationships and create a collaborative, delivery-focused culture
AI and Engineering Innovation
- Champion practical use of AI across engineering, operations and product innovation
- Use AI-assisted development, automation and intelligent tooling to improve quality, efficiency and delivery speed within clear governance controls

Delivery and Operational Excellence
- Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions
- Drive agile delivery, continuous improvement and hands-on problem-solving where required
Who We're Looking For...
Someone commercially aware, outcome driven and technically credible, with the leadership presence to set direction while remaining close enough to delivery to solve problems and support the team.
You'll Need:
- Significant software engineering and engineering leadership experience
- Experience managing in-house and outsourced, offshore/nearshore engineering teams
- Strong knowledge of the full Software Development Lifecycle, secure coding, application security and engineering governance
- Experience scaling engineering capability and improving development maturity
- Knowledge of cloud-native architecture, DevOps practices and modern engineering tooling
- Practical experience of AI technologies and AI-assisted development approaches
- Strong understanding of GDPR, the EU AI Act and relevant security frameworks, including ISO 27001, SOC 2 and Cyber Essentials Plus
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, prioritisation and delivery skills
