At Scottish Building Society, every role helps us achieve our purpose. This is more than banking. It is about helping people feel confident about money, supporting them through big life moments and being part of a Society that is growing, changing and looking ahead. We are proud of our history, but we are building for the future using fresh ideas, better ways of working and real teamwork to make a positive difference for our members, colleagues and communities.

That is why we are looking for a commercially minded and member-focused Head of Products - Savings / Deposits to help shape the next chapter of our savings proposition. This is a brilliant opportunity to lead products that are fair, useful, easy to understand and built around what savers need now and in the future.

You’ll be our go-to expert for savings and deposits, bringing insight, energy and clear thinking to pricing, product strategy, governance, customer journeys and sustainable deposit growth. Working across Commercial, Finance, Relationship Centres, Risk, Marketing and IT, you’ll turn ideas into practical improvements that make a real difference for members.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
