Head of Professional Services, Manchester
Stop managing someone else's process. Go build your own.
Ever looked at a Professional Services function and thought, "I know exactly how I'd build this better"?
Here's your shot.
We're partnered with an established, ambitious IT Services & Cyber Security business in Manchester to find a Head of Professional Services & Solutions, and this isn't a "keep the wheels turning" role. It's a genuine mandate to reshape the function from the ground up, with the CEO's full backing to make it happen.
The opportunity
This Northwest tech business supports 4,000+ devices across Managed IT, Cyber Security, Cloud, and Professional Services. The customers are there. The technical capability is there. What's missing is the leader who can turn a good operation into a great one.
That's you; if you've got the track record and the appetite to build.
You'll own it all

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll take the reins on the entire delivery lifecycle: Professional Services, Solutions Architecture, Project Management, Implementation Engineering, Major Technical Projects, Customer Onboarding, and Offboarding. A multidisciplinary team is already in place; your job is to decide what it becomes next.
Think: predictable delivery instead of firefighting. Real KPIs instead of guesswork. Engineers who know what's expected of them, and a leadership team that finally has visibility on performance and profitability.
This is commercial as much as technical
You'll be judged on utilisation, project profitability, quoted vs. actual hours, and forecasting, not just technical delivery. If you've got real P&L instincts alongside technical credibility, this role gives you room to use both.
Sound like you?
You've likely held a title like Head of Professional Services, Delivery Director, Head of Technical Delivery, or Professional Services Manager, or you're already doing the job without the title to match. Either way, you'll bring:

Why this one's different
You won't inherit someone else's finished product. You'll report straight to the CEO, influence how the wider business operates, and have the scope to leave your fingerprints on Professional Services for years to come.
If you're ready to stop asking "what if" and start building, we should talk.
