Head of Programme Delivery

£110,000 - £140,000 + Benefits | Permanent | London

For the largest and most exciting transport projects in Europe, we are recruiting a Head of Programme Delivery to lead all client functions and client team within a Major Works Civils Contracts Integrated Programme Area Team (MWCC IPT), acting as delegate and deputy to the MWCC Project Client. This role will discharge the client responsibilities across an incredibly complex multi-billion-pound programme spanning tunnelling, mining, major underground structuring works, and navigating existing infrastructure and utilities. Leading a team and responsible to the Programme Director, this role will ensure safe, compliant, on time and on budget delivery whilst interfacing with MWCC and 3rd party stakeholders, undertaking NEC3 PM duties, and safeguarding client owned risks.

Main Duties

  • Lead and manage performance of the client delivery team and the supply chain to deliver the integrated design, engineering, planning and delivery for construction
  • Lead the integration and management of interfaces including strategic and local stakeholders
  • Lead the client assurance programme across the Development Agreement
  • Responsible for all NEC3 Project Manager duties and obligations as per contract
  • Responsible for Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) duties
  • Support in the leadership of contract management performance for the Major Works Civils Contracts Integrated Programme Team
  • Act as Deputy Client representative for the MWCC IPT
  • Enable delivery of client retained 3rd party works (Utilities, On Network Works, Enabling and Temporary Works) and services by managing interfaces
  • Lead the IPT Client Team (Construction and Functions) integrated within the MWCC IPT
  • Lead the workforce planning for resources integrated within the MWCC IPT

Person Specification

  • Experience delivering integrated infrastructure programmes of work, with multiple assets to time, cost and quality considerations
  • Leadership of teams, across organisations, and collaborative partnerships
  • Degree-level qualification in Engineering, Construction, or Building Science or professional experience along with accreditation
  • Knowledge of integrated programme delivery within a complex partnership
  • UK construction regs including CDM
  • Inspirational leadership, influence and business judgement
  • Previous roles may have included Deputy Director of Programme Delivery, Director of Programme Delivery, or Delivery Director
