Head of Project Controls | £100,000 – £130,000 + Benefits | Permanent | London & Milton Keynes

For the largest and most exciting transport projects in Europe, we are recruiting a Head of Project Controls. Working in a high-performing Integrated Programme Team with the Programme Director and Programme Controls Director, this role will lead a large team of Project Controls staff (Risk, Scheduling, Cost, Planning) spread across London and Milton Keynes. Feeding significantly into the programme plan and leading the development / integration of project baseline across scope, time, cost, risk, and quality, this role will develop strategic performance insight, to challenge and influence senior leaders across the Client as well as the JV.

Main Duties:

  • Own the development and maintenance of integrated baseline across scope, time, cost, risk, and quality, providing strategic insight on inter-dependencies and performance – providing subject matter expert advice to senior leaders
  • Manage, lead, and motivate a large team of 4 Senior Project Control Managers, and their wider-team of 25 – 30 project controls and JV staff
  • Lead baseline management and performance management updates including contract integrations of up to £3bn
  • Endorsement of baseline and performance updates at Project / Portfolio level to enable decision-making
  • Lead and coordinate all project controls activities ensuring accuracy and quality of cost, risk and schedule integration
  • Ensure consistent approach to project controls across the portfolio and contract, leading assurance of project controls data
  • Accountable for ensuring adherence with PMO and Project Controls standards
  • Support, challenge, and influence senior leadership across the Client and JV, holding the supply chain and delivery areas to account
  • Provide strategic analysis of data and reports to provide insights and trends on performance to impact decision-making
  • Manage the periodic correlation of schedule, cost, quality, and risk to drive programme deliver and manage performance
  • Own and manage risks and lead the change management processes

  • Leadership of large multi-discipline Project Control teams across mega-projects and in leading performance reviews with senior stakeholders (Client and Contractor)
  • Experience in core project controls functions including Baseline, Schedule, Cost, Change, Risk and Performance Management
  • Civils, Transport, Main Works, Aviation, Nuclear, or Engineering experience with understanding of NEC contracts, amendments, and early warning notices
  • Experienced with Primavera P6, Prism, or CEMAR
  • Experience managing and influencing governance forums including Partnering Boards, Local, Regional and Political stakeholders, and JV Partner Boards.
