A little more about your role...
We are seeking a Head of Project Management to join our Low Carbon business. In this role, you will lead our Project Delivery group, which includes project management, project engineering management, construction management and project control professionals.
Our Low Carbon team are delivering some of the world’s most important projects to support the Net Zero transition, from efficient thermal generation plant to innovative low carbon energy and fuels projects, hydrogen production and natural gas, CO2 and hydrogen networks development. The Project Delivery team leads those projects at all stages of the project lifecycle, where stewardship from early client engagement through to delivery and handover helps to build long-term client relationships.
As part of the Low Carbon Sector leadership team, you will oversee delivery performance across all projects within the sector, with a strong emphasis on project governance, project performance and team utilisation. Additionally, you will provide leadership across a diverse portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects.
Core activities will include:
- Providing strategic direction to the Project Delivery group, aligning with our Low Carbon Sector Strategy.
- Being accountable for project delivery performance including financial, people development and engagement, enhancing technical expertise and client satisfaction.
- Collaborating across the UK and global geographies.
- Driving innovation and productivity through the development and implementation of new tools and methods.
- Providing visible leadership in safety, health, and wellbeing, committed to a zero-harm culture.
- Leading influence in governance and control across projects.
Our Team
- Our team’s expertise covers all Low Carbon energy generation, conversion and transport technologies including power generation, carbon removals, novel first of a kind concepts, gas networks and other low or zero carbon technology. Working together with private developers, utilities, government bodies, banks, lending agencies, contractors and OEMs we safely deliver projects whilst meeting and exceeding client expectations.
- Our teams are tactically placed in the UK, India, Ireland and wider Europe. We work internationally with our clients and other Energy sector teams in North America, Middle East, Africa, South America, Asia, New Zealand and Australia.
- The Low Carbon team provides services to Clients from inception through development, construction, operation, and decommissioning. An approach that sees us support our clients over the entire lifecycle of a project.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- An experienced Project Management professional or leader known for driving innovation and trust, with a strong strategic vision and transformative leadership skills.
- A collaborative team builder, excelling in relationship-building and passionate about developing people, with a commitment to fostering team retention, progression, diversity, and inclusion.
- Capable of developing strong client relationships and have a proven track record of delivering projects across all stages of development in the Energy sector.
- Significant experience across different consulting and contracting models such as OE, EPC, EPCM, Reimbursable, Incentivised, and Fixed Price.
- Experience of delivering consultancy / contracting services in the Energy sector with a commitment to problem solving in a collaborative way.
- Able to deal with conflicting priorities and to offer win-win solutions.
- The ability to travel within the UK and overseas.
- Educated to degree standard, with an MBA or relevant post-degree qualification being a further advantage. Exceptional candidates without a degree will also be considered if they can demonstrate equivalent professional qualifications (e.g. Chartered status) by suitable experience.
- A full member of a relevant professional body.
