About the Role
We’re looking for a Head of Project Procurement to lead the delivery of efficient, cost-effective procurement support across bids and projects within Siemens Mobility UKI. In this pivotal role, you’ll take responsibility for leading all procurement activities across integrated project teams and bid teams, ensuring a value-driven and compliant approach throughout. You’ll lead and develop the Bids & Projects Procurement Management team, ensuring the right capability and resource is in place to support a dynamic portfolio of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and Developing the Bids & Projects Procurement Management function, ensuring strong governance, capability, and resource alignment across a dynamic portfolio.
- Driving procurement strategy execution across bids and projects, ensuring consistent delivery through Bid and Project Procurement teams and seamless handover between phases.
- Enabling high-performing project delivery, aligning procurement activity with project and bid requirements to ensure readiness, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
- Building strong stakeholder partnerships, working closely with Project, Sales, and Bid teams to understand demand, shape pipelines, and align procurement to business needs.
- Strengthening customer relationships, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver value and support future growth opportunities.
- Delivering commercial impact, ensuring budgets are met, driving cost reduction initiatives, improving bid competitiveness, and reducing supply chain non-conformance costs.
- Championing a safe, compliant, and high-performance culture, embedding HSQE standards, continuous improvement, effective people leadership, and Siemens values across the team.
- Driving sustainable procurement to meet customer needs.

Essential Requirements
- Strong procurement management experience, with a focus on direct spend within complex, project-based environments.
- Proven track record supporting major bids and projects, delivering procurement outcomes that enable successful delivery and competitiveness.
- Ability to operate in a matrix and multi-disciplinary environment, collaborating effectively across teams and functions.
- Commercial acumen and negotiation expertise, with the ability to drive value and influence outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, building trusted relationships at all organizational levels, internally and externally.
- Confident communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate strategy and influence diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPS (or equivalent), a business or engineering degree, SAP experience, experience within a multinational organisation, and leadership of teams in a matrix structure.
- Experience working within the Rail Industry.
