Head of Projects & Engineering
Location: London
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £120,000 - £140,000 + Benefits
Key Responsibilities
- Build the investment case for new projects and assess alternative concepts.
- Ensure engineering maturity supports funding approval.
- Sign off design packages, technical deliverables, and programmes.
- Supervise third-party engineering contractors and in-country project teams.
- Define how projects are executed from start to finish.
- Shape capital and operating budgets and monitor delivery against plan.
- Assure cost, schedule, and resource plans across the portfolio.
- Own integrity strategy for facilities and pipelines.
- Drive emissions monitoring and methane leak reduction.
- Contribute engineering input to insurance, decommissioning liability, and annual performance reviews.

Requirements
- MSc in Mechanical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status.
- 15+ years of experience in oil & gas, covering both onshore and offshore projects.
- Senior technical leadership on major projects, plant integrity, process safety, startup, and late-life decommissioning.
- Strong blend of engineering depth and project delivery expertise.
- Proven track record of leading teams and setting long-term direction.
