Head of Proposition

A fast-growing, PE-backed national wealth management group. Strong regional businesses. And a chance to build the proposition that brings it all together.

This business has grown fast — through smart M&A, brilliant regional advisers and a genuine belief that financial planning should feel personal, not transactional.

There is already plenty that's working.

What's missing is one person joining the dots — taking the best of what exists today and turning it into a clear, consistent proposition that works across a growing national group, without losing what makes its regional businesses successful.

So whether you're an adviser in the North East or a client in Surrey, there's a clear answer to what the business stands for and how it delivers great financial planning.

That's the gap. That's the job.

What you'd actually be doing

You'll take a goal-based financial planning proposition — already loved by the advisers who use it — and develop it into something consistent, distinctive and easy to communicate across a growing network of regional advice businesses.

You'll become the person compliance, investment, marketing and the regions come to when they ask: "What's our answer on this?"

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

But this isn't about managing an in-tray of proposition requests. You'll build the roadmap and decide, with the business, what comes next.

Some days that's sitting with a Financial Planning Director working out what their advisers and clients actually need.

Some days it's stress-testing the proposition against what's happening in the wider market, making sure it doesn't simply meet the norm — it beats it.

Some days it's making the case to the executive team for why something needs to change, with the commercial rationale and business case to back it up.

And some days it's creating the standards, tools and frameworks that bring consistency across the group without slowing good advisers down.

Who does well here

Someone who's led proposition or commercial strategy within wealth management or financial planning and understands the difference between advice that looks good on paper and an experience that genuinely lands with advisers and clients.

Someone who can listen to regional leaders, adviser feedback, client needs and executive priorities — and turn all of that into a clear proposition roadmap rather than a longer list of problems.

You'll need enough commercial credibility to hold a room of senior executives, enough technical understanding to challenge when needed, and enough curiosity to listen before deciding you already know the answer.

This is a role built around influence. You'll need to bring people with you rather than simply tell them what to do — while still knowing when it's time to challenge and push something forward.

The practical stuff

You'll report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and work across the regional businesses alongside Financial Planning Directors, Compliance, Investment, Marketing and the wider leadership team.

The role is UK-based and hybrid, with regular travel to regional offices and London.

Level 4 or Chartered status would be helpful, but it's not the whole story. Commercial judgement, proposition experience and the ability to turn complexity into something people actually use will matter just as much.

If this is you — or you know who it should be — let's talk.
