Head of Quality
Onsite, 5 days a week
£80,000 - £90,000 per annum + Bonus + Car allowance (£100k OTE)
Worcestershire
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Quality to lead and drive development of the quality function within a world-class manufacturing environment. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for a fifteen strong quality department shaping and delivering the quality strategy, ensuring the highest standards of product quality, operational excellence, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
This role offers significant influence across the business and will suit a strategic quality leader who can drive performance, lead high-performing teams and deliver measurable improvements across quality, manufacturing and operational processes.
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement the business quality strategy aligned to operational and commercial objectives.
- Lead all quality-related activities across the site.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Contribute to business planning, annual budgets and strategic decision-making.
- Monitor and report quality performance to senior leadership.
Quality Management
- Own and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and industry standards.
- Lead internal and external audits and manage corrective actions.
- Reduce customer complaints, PPM levels, scrap, rework and cost of quality.
- Drive root cause analysis and preventative action programmes.
- Support new product introduction and project reviews to ensure quality requirements are achieved.

Operational Excellence
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Operations teams to improve processes and performance.
- Lead improvement initiatives focusing on efficiency, reliability and customer satisfaction.
- Embed Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies throughout the business.
Leadership & People Development
- Lead, mentor and develop the Quality team.
- Create a high-performance culture focused on accountability, engagement and results.
- Set departmental objectives and monitor performance against KPIs.
- Support talent development, succession planning and employee growth.
Health, Safety & Environmental Management
- Champion a strong safety-first culture.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Support sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management or a related discipline.
- Quality Management qualification desirable.
- Chartered or Professional Membership of a relevant institution preferred.
Experience
- Significant experience leading a Quality function within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing quality strategies.
- Experience managing Quality Management Systems and external audits.
- Strong knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive business change.
- Automotive, aerospace, precision engineering or advanced manufacturing experience desirable.
