I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in residential conveyancing, with experience across the full conveyancing lifecycle and a solid understanding of regulatory requirements, AML, client due diligence, source of funds checks, file reviews and compliance processes.
You will ideally have experience supporting or overseeing compliance within a regulated legal environment, with exposure to CLC/SRA regulations, risk management or roles such as Deputy HOLP, Deputy MLRO, COLP/MLRO support or senior compliance positions.
This role is perfect for someone who is curious about how AI can transform legal services and enjoys turning complex regulations into practical, efficient processes. You do not need to be technical or able to code but you should be excited by innovation and the opportunity to help shape how technology supports legal compliance.
