The Opportunity

A leading UK property consultancy is looking to appoint a Head of Quantity Surveying to lead its London Cost Management team.

Reporting directly to the Head of Project & Building Consultancy, this is a senior leadership position with responsibility for a team of five Cost Managers and a broad portfolio of commercial projects across London.

The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of an established team, strengthen key client relationships and play a significant role in the continued growth of the Cost Management offering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of five Cost Managers, providing technical direction, mentoring and career development.
  • Take overall responsibility for the quality and successful delivery of Quantity Surveying and Cost Management instructions.
  • Oversee a varied portfolio of commercial projects, including refurbishment, fit out, development and major capital expenditure programmes.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for key clients, developing trusted and long-term relationships.
  • Support the team in winning new instructions and expanding existing client accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to grow the London Cost Management offering and contribute to the wider Project & Building Consultancy strategy.
  • Provide senior technical advice across cost planning, procurement, tendering, contract administration and cost reporting.
  • Review project performance and ensure consistently high standards of service and commercial delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with other service lines across the wider consultancy to identify opportunities and deliver integrated solutions for clients.
  • Support recruitment, team development and succession planning as the business continues to grow.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager with a strong commercial property background and the confidence to operate at a senior leadership level.

You will ideally be:

  • MRICS qualified with significant post-qualification experience.
  • An experienced Quantity Surveyor or Cost Manager with a strong track record across commercial property.
  • Currently operating at Associate Director, Director, Senior Director or Head of Cost Management level.
  • Experienced in managing and developing a team.
  • Comfortable managing senior client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Commercially minded, with experience of winning work and developing client relationships.
  • Confident providing technical oversight across multiple projects.
  • A strong communicator who can work effectively with clients, colleagues and senior stakeholders.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a well-established property consultancy at a senior level and take genuine ownership of its London Quantity Surveying and Cost Management function.

Reporting to the Head of Project & Building Consultancy, you will have the autonomy to develop the team, strengthen existing client relationships and contribute to the wider growth strategy.

Package

Up to £110,000 base salary + Car Allowance + Bonus
