Are you an experienced radiological protection and environmental professional ready to lead, influence and make a real impact? We’re looking for a Head of Radiological Protection & Environment to lead our specialist team at Wylfa, combining strong technical expertise with exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills. As a senior and trusted technical leader, you’ll work across the site, with projects and with external regulators, providing oversight and assurance while building a highly capable and engaged team.
Your will also:

- Champion radiological and environmental compliance, implementing company policies and arrangements and providing authoritative advice on radiological protection, environmental matters, EPR Authorisations/Permits and Best Available Techniques (BAT).
- Provide robust oversight and assurance across site and project activities, ensuring professional standards are consistently achieved, contractor personnel are suitably qualified and experienced (SQEP), and arrangements remain effective through audit, inspection and event investigation.
- Build strong relationships with regulators, external authorities and key stakeholders, including the Environment Agency, while helping shape and deliver site and company strategy across radiological protection, worker safety and environmental performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
