Head of Radiopharmacy
We seek an experienced and ambitious Head of Radiopharmacy to lead our large, regional, MHRA Specials Licenced Radiopharmacy Service. This is an exciting opportunity to shape service delivery and support the growth of Nuclear Medicine services within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and the wider region. This role provides strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant production and supply of radiopharmaceuticals, leading a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
The post-holder also acts as regional coordinator for Radiopharmacies across the South Yorkshire and Humber area and will be key to developing a regional strategy for the future provision of regional radiopharmacy services to improve service delivery, capacity, and resilience. They are expected to provide a key link for the region into the UK Radiopharmacy Group.

The Post Holder Will
- Lead the Radiopharmacy Service and its workforce.
- Ensure compliance with MHRA and other regulatory requirements.
- Drive service development, innovation, and quality improvement.
- Work closely with both the Nuclear Medicine Section Head and Technical Manager to manage resources, budgets, and workforce planning effectively across the whole service.
- Work closely with Radiopharmacy teams in other Trusts across the region in the provision of robust regional radiopharmaceutical supply.
- Support research, education, and the introduction of new radiopharmaceuticals.
- Build strong relationships with clinical, scientific, and managerial colleagues.
