Head of Rail & Civils / Associate Director
O'Neill & Brennan | London (Fareham/Guildford considered)
O'Neill & Brennan is one of the UK and Ireland's leading construction service providers, turning over £100m+ across 14 offices. Best known for Labour, Trades and Logistics, but our White-Collar recruitment division has always punched above its weight - and we're now looking for a senior recruitment leader to take our Rail & Civils recruitment and account management offering to the next level.
This is a senior, P&L-owning leadership role - we're looking for someone already operating at Associate Director / Head of Division level (or very close to it), with a minimum of 8+ years' recruitment experience and a track record of building and running a desk or division, not just billing on one. If you haven't yet led a team or owned a P&L, this one isn't for you - but we'd still love to hear from you for other opportunities as they come up.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
