Head of Permanent Recruitment - LifeSciences - UK - Homebased
Upsilon Global, a leading staffing agency within the lifesciences sector, are looking for an experienced Head of Permanent Recruitment to join our leadership team and take ownership of the growth and development of our permanent recruitment division.
Since launching in 2016, Upsilon Global has forged an enviable reputation as a trusted partner within the lifescience sector, having provided 2000+ experts across the clinical, medical, quality, regulatory, data management and statistics fields, in which time we've supported 800+ clinical trials across 50+ countries.
As part of our continual growth plans, we're now seeking a Head of Permanent Recruitment.
We're not looking for someone to simply inherit a desk. We’re looking for an experienced life-sciences recruiter, ideally with a proven track record in converting prospective clients to active clients. If you're someone seeking a new challenge, someone who perhaps wants more autonomy and more opportunities to build something of their own, whilst also getting the support and reward/recognition you need, we'd be interested in speaking with you.

Upsilon Global is a specialist recruitment consultancy business, supporting global clinical research operations for 10 years.
Since launching in 2016, we have built an international client base across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO and medical device organisations, supporting companies with permanent and freelance talent across the clinical trials lifecycle, resulting in over 1000+ experts provided to 500+ clinical trials across 50+ countries.

The opportunity
As Head of Permanent Recruitment, you will take responsibility for developing and scaling our permanent recruitment business.
This is a hands-on leadership position, working directly with the SLT team.
Initially, we want someone capable of combining business development, recruitment delivery and strategy, before building and managing a specialist permanent recruitment team as the division grows.
You will have the freedom to shape:
- Our permanent recruitment strategy
- Target markets and geographical focus
- Client acquisition and account development
- Search and delivery methodology
- Team structure and future hiring
- Training and development of consultants
- Revenue and growth strategy
You’ll also have the opportunity to leverage Upsilon’s existing relationships and international network while developing your own client portfolio.
Who we’re looking for

We’re particularly interested in speaking with recruiters who have:
- A proven track record in permanent recruitment
- Recruitment experience within clinical research, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, CROs or the wider life-sciences sector
- Strong business-development skills and experience winning new clients
- A demonstrable history of delivering permanent placements and generating revenue
- An established network within the life-sciences industry
- Experience managing, mentoring or developing recruiters — or a clear ambition to move into leadership
- A commercial mindset and genuine desire to build and grow a business unit
