About the role
This is a senior leadership position within Argus Analytics, combining ownership of one of the most significant market intelligence views in Argus, the creation of market-shaping industry analysis, commercial strategy development, product innovation and engagement with executive clients and industry decision-makers.
Argus Analytics forms one half of the advisory division of Argus Media Group. Comprising a global team of 90 analysts, we provide clients with analysis, data and forecasts across 35 commodities and markets spanning oil & gas, petrochemicals, agriculture markets, fertilizers, metals, power and energy transition solutions. Our work is firmly focused on market fundamentals — considering end-to-end value chains, international trade flows and macroeconomic trends. Our value proposition centres around the quality of our analysts, the depth of our data and our ability to leverage Argus’ wider strengths, including 55 years of commodity markets expertise, unrivalled global networks and proprietary datasets.
The Oil Products Team is a foundational part of Argus Analytics and has developed a strong and successful offering covering short-term markets in crude oil, refined products, LPG and petroleum coke. The team delivers regular analysis, forecasts and market narrative on these markets, helping over 350 companies to navigate market uncertainty and risk. We are now working to develop extensive and industry-leading long-term coverage of the midstream and downstream sectors. We are therefore looking for a passionate, driven, innovative and energetic Head of Refined Products Analytics to lead this development.
Reporting to the Global Head of Oil Analytics, the successful candidate will have an ambitious and high-profile mandate to materially grow our existing multi-million-dollar global client base. They will have a particular focus on building the team’s long-term view of refined products markets and refining more generally, leading the development of new services and supporting the growth in bespoke project work. In addition, this role will ensure that the analysis and viewpoints developed are integral to the wider Analytics portfolio - effectively supporting all other associated areas across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
