About the Role
We’re looking for a Head of Category Management to lead our UK&I Siemens Mobility Procurement team, with a strong focus on direct spend and regional impact. You’ll lead and develop a team of Regional Category Managers, driving the creation and delivery of regional category strategies in close collaboration with the Group Category network and key stakeholders. You’ll establish a clear, strategic approach to sourcing across the region, spanning supplier selection, panel management and supplier relationship management. Acting as the central point of contact for resource allocation, you’ll ensure Regional Category Manager expertise is deployed effectively to support bids and projects. You’ll also lead localisation across SMO UKI, strengthening regional supply chains and delivering sustainable value. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll build strong stakeholder relationships, drive alignment and deliver consistent, high-performing procurement outcomes through strategic thinking and continuous improvement.
You’ll make a difference by…
- Leading and developing the Localisation & Regional Category Management function, ensuring strong governance, capability and resource alignment across all categories.
- Shaping and delivering regional category strategies, aligned to business objectives, localisation requirements and Group category direction.
- Driving supplier excellence, through effective supplier selection, segmentation, performance management and the development of strategic partnerships.
- Strengthening stakeholder collaboration, working closely with Procurement, Engineering, PLM and wider teams to enable standardisation, innovation and successful delivery.
- Enhancing customer relationships, building trusted partnerships internally and externally to meet current needs and unlock future opportunities.
- Delivering financial value, ensuring budgets are met while identifying and realising cost reduction opportunities to improve competitiveness and project outcomes.
- Championing a high-performing, safe and compliant culture, embedding HSQE standards, continuous improvement, strong people leadership and Siemens values in everything you do.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
