Position: Head of Religion

Start date: January 2027

Employment Status: Full-Time (in conjunction with a permanent Teaching Role)

Salary: $102,874 to $140,998 ($140,998 salary applies for teachers with a minimum of 5 years FTE service)

What We Are Looking For

Marist College welcomes applications from qualified and enthusiastic educators for the position of Head of Religion, commencing from January 2027.

We seek a passionate leader who will strive for excellence in teaching, administration, professional conduct, relationships with parents and the wider school community, and a genuine interest in young people and their learning.

  • A willingness to proactively engage with professional development opportunities to enhance quality pedagogy and student outcomes
  • An ability to work in collaboration with the Leadership Team and other staff members to contribute to the future planned growth, development, and extra-curricular life of the College

About Us

Marist College, Emerald is a Catholic co-educational secondary college situated in the Central Highlands, three hours west of Rockhampton. The College draws students from Emerald as well as surrounding rural areas including Gindie, Springsure, the Gemfields, Clermont, Blackwater, Tieri, and many rural properties and currently caters for years with an enrolment of 556 students.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and the ability to obtain approved Queensland College of Teachers Registration
  • Australian work rights
