We are working with a well-established Midlands law firm with a strong residential property practice and an excellent reputation for client service. As part of its continued growth, the firm is looking to appoint an experienced leader to head up its residential conveyancing operation.
Location: Midlands
Salary: £80,000 – £120,000 DOE
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
We are looking for an experienced Head of Residential Conveyancing to lead a substantial and established residential property operation.
This is a senior leadership position and we are specifically looking for someone who has successfully managed a large conveyancing team, ideally within a high-volume, multi-team or multi-office environment.
The Role
You will take overall responsibility for the performance and direction of the residential conveyancing function, leading managers, conveyancers, and support teams while ensuring excellent client service, compliance, and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing a large residential conveyancing team
- Managing through Team Leaders and/or senior conveyancers
- Driving performance, productivity, and service standards
- Monitoring departmental KPIs, capacity, and financial performance
- Ensuring high standards of compliance, risk management, and file quality
- Developing managers and building a strong leadership structure
- Improving processes, systems, and operational efficiency
- Managing recruitment, retention, and succession planning
- Working closely with the senior leadership team on growth and strategy
- Supporting the continued expansion of the residential conveyancing operation
Essential Experience
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

- Significant residential conveyancing experience
- Proven experience managing a large team – this is essential
- Experience operating at Head of Department, Director, Operations Head, or equivalent senior level
- Strong knowledge of residential conveyancing processes and compliance
- Experience managing performance and KPIs within a high-volume environment
- Strong people leadership and team-development skills
- Commercial and operational awareness
- The ability to lead change and improve processes
Experience managing multiple teams, locations, or a high-volume conveyancing operation would be particularly attractive.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established conveyancing leader looking for a substantial senior role with the scope to influence how the operation develops and grows.
Salary: £80,000 – £120,000 depending on experience.
