Head of Retail

Location: Gloucestershire
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior retail professional to lead and develop CDCH’s retail operation, maximising income, profitability, supporter engagement and brand awareness across its charity shops, e-commerce and donated goods activities.

As a member of the Leadership Team, the Head of Retail will play a key role in supporting the charity’s long-term sustainability, growth and strategic direction. You will provide strategic leadership across a multi-site retail operation of approximately 10–15 outlets, alongside warehouse, stock generation and e-commerce activities.

You will develop and deliver an ambitious retail growth strategy, identifying new opportunities to increase income, improve profitability and strengthen the performance of all retail channels. Using your commercial insight and understanding of the retail landscape, you will drive performance and ensure retail makes the greatest possible contribution to the charity’s wider objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
