Head of Retail

Location: HQ Chipping Sodbury (with regular travel to stores)

Reports To: CEO

Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

Goose & Gander is entering an exciting new chapter in its retail journey. As our retail estate continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced and commercially driven Head of Retail to take full ownership of the function and build the foundations for the next stage of expansion.

This is far more than a retail operations role. It's an opportunity to shape the future of retail at Goose & Gander. We are looking for someone who can bring stability, structure, and commercial discipline to an evolving retail business, creating the processes, standards, and leadership needed to support sustainable long-term growth.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own every aspect of our retail operation, from commercial performance and new store openings to operational excellence, customer experience, and team development. You'll have the autonomy to make decisions, implement best-in-class retail practices, and build a high-performing retail function that is scalable as the business continues to expand.

This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious retail leader to make a lasting impact by defining what great retail looks like at one of the UK's fastest-growing lifestyle brands.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Strategy & Growth

  • Define and own the retail strategy, aligning it with the wider business objectives and long-term vision.
  • Build the structure, processes, and operational framework required to support continued retail growth.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, profitability, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Support the identification, planning, and successful launch of new retail locations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
