Head of Retail Media

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Head of Retail Media to establish, lead, and scale a new Retail Media function. Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing, you will take full commercial and operational ownership of this high-profile business area.

Your mission will be to build a market-leading Retail Media capability that generates incremental, supplier-funded revenue across both Wholesale and Retail channels. You will manage the entire lifecycle of the initiative, from developing initial pilots and proof-of-concepts through to delivering a fully operational national proposition.

This is a unique opportunity to build a specialist team, develop new revenue streams with major FMCG brands, and establish the commercial foundations for long-term Retail Media growth.

About the Business

Our client is a well-established, diversified organisation with a significant presence across the UK and international markets. With a strong heritage in retail and wholesale, the business has continued to grow and diversify across a number of sectors.

Serving millions of customers and employing thousands of people, the organisation has a strong market presence and an extensive network of retail and wholesale operations.

As the business continues to evolve its commercial strategy, Retail Media represents a significant opportunity to create new, high-margin revenue streams while delivering greater value to suppliers and FMCG partners.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership

  • Take full commercial ownership of the Retail Media function and deliver ambitious supplier-funded revenue targets.
  • Manage the Retail Media P&L, ensuring strong commercial performance and profitability.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of FMCG suppliers and commercial partners.
  • Create compelling media propositions, packages, and commercial proposals tailored to supplier objectives.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, joint business planning, and strategic supplier relationships.

Programme & Project Delivery

  • Lead the end-to-end development and implementation of the Retail Media proposition.
  • Manage initial pilots and proof-of-concept activity, measuring performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement the strategy for the national rollout of the Retail Media proposition.
  • Establish appropriate processes, systems, reporting, and governance to support continued growth.
  • Identify new opportunities to expand the Retail Media offering across both digital and traditional channels.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
