Head of RGS Technology
Role Overview
As Head of RGS Technology, you are the senior technical leader responsible for the architecture, development, and delivery of the RGS core platform. You will direct, support, and mentor the software engineering team to deliver a modern, scalable, cost-efficient system that enables rapid feature delivery and seamless operator integrations.
This role requires deep technical expertise in high-availability systems, real-time processing, and integration patterns, combined with leadership ability to drive technical excellence across the RGS Technology team.
Location: Hybrid in UK, Malta or Poland.
What you'll be doing
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical direction and leadership for the RGS engineering team
- Lead architectural decisions ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and performance of the RGS platform
- Drive system efficiency and automation initiatives
- Champion AI and automation capabilities to enhance product functionality
- Ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to engineering best practices
- Lead technical design reviews and provide guidance on complex technical problems
Platform Development
- Own the technical strategy for the RGS core platform evolution
- Work closely with the Infrastructure team to ensure optimal deployment and operation
- Design and implement real-time jackpot processing and distribution systems
- Identify and prioritise technical debt reduction initiatives

Team Development & Mentorship
- Mentor and develop software engineers, fostering technical growth and excellence
- Establish and promote engineering standards, patterns, and best practices
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve team capability
- Support hiring and technical assessment of engineering candidates
Collaboration & Delivery
- Collaborate with the Product Owner to ensure technical feasibility and appropriate estimation
- Work with the Solution Architect to align system design with overall architectural vision
- Consult with company-wide stakeholders to ensure delivery of an RGS platform that allows efficient working throughout the organisation.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support for complex issues
What you'll bring to the role
- Extensive experience in software engineering with at least 3 years in a senior/lead role
- Strong experience with high-availability, real-time processing systems
- Experience with RGS and Game Servers is highly advantageous
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, containerisation, and DevOps practices
- Strong experience with API design and integration patterns
- Proven track record of leading technical teams and delivering complex systems
- Strong understanding of software architecture patterns and best practices
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts
- Experience in the online gaming industry is essential
