Our client, a large, ambitious professional services organisation, has created an opportunity for a senior risk professional to establish and lead a newly created enterprise-wide risk function.

About the Role

The new Head of Risk will report to the General Counsel and work closely with the Board and Executive Team, to shape and embed a modern risk management framework that supports strategic decision-making, strengthens resilience, and enables sustainable growth. This is a highly visible leadership role with responsibility for enterprise risk management, governance, regulatory compliance, business resilience, risk assurance, and information security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead a newly created enterprise-wide risk function.
  • Shape and embed a modern risk management framework.
  • Support strategic decision-making, strengthen resilience, and enable sustainable growth.
  • Oversee enterprise risk management, governance, regulatory compliance, business resilience, risk assurance, and information security.

Requirements

  • Experienced risk leader with a proven track record of developing enterprise risk frameworks within a complex, highly regulated environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with UK regulators such as the FCA and SRA.
  • Strong technical expertise combined with commercial judgment.
  • Ability to influence at Board level and build collaborative relationships across the business.

Location and Salary

  • The role is based in the north west of England.
  • Operates under a hybrid working model, with an expectation of approximately ten days per month in one of the firm's nationwide offices, which include Liverpool, London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, or Leeds.
  • Commands a basic salary in the region of £150,000 per annum.
