About The Role

Days of Working: This position is based at the London Business School working Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:00

Due to the continued growth of OCS, we are recruiting a Head of Risk and Security to oversee security operations for a key customer and site. This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing the onsite security team, ensuring compliance with company and client requirements, and delivering a safe, secure and customer-focused service.

The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with strong operational, people management and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of driving performance while maintaining the highest standards of service delivery.

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the site's security operation, ensuring a safe, secure, and compliant environment across multiple locations.
  • Review, develop, and implement security policies, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies to protect people, assets, and business operations.
  • Support and enhance Business Continuity and Incident Response plans, ensuring services can be restored quickly and effectively during disruptions.
  • Conduct security risk assessments, investigations, and root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Develop and deploy security staffing and operational plans for large-scale on and off-site events.
  • Create, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring consistent service delivery and operational excellence.
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders, local businesses, emergency services, and law enforcement agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, client, licensing, health & safety, and regulatory requirements, while leading and developing security teams to maintain the highest professional standards.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Proven experience in security management, ideally within the education sector, with a strong understanding of risk management, compliance, and audit processes.
  • IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent health & safety qualification, alongside a valid SIA licence.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and lead high-performing teams.
  • Experience developing and implementing operational improvements, policies, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication, planning, analytical, and project management skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), with the ability to work confidently with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Calm and decisive under pressure, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to incidents and emergencies.
  • Customer-focused, professional, and reliable, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and working collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and members of the public.
  • Full Driving License
