Head of Risk & Internal Audit

T2M Resourcing have been appointed to recruit for a Head of Risk & Internal Audit for a successful global engineering services business. With a global remit as Head of Risk & Internal Audit you will report directly to the Group Chief Financial Officer and be impactful directly influencing Board decisions.

Working UK based with some travel

Salary: £80,000 to £90,000 + Car/Car Allowance + Bonus & Benefits Package

Key Responsibilities

As Head of Risk & Internal Audit key aspects of the role will include the following:

  • Develop and implement the Group Internal Audit and Risk Plan, with a focus on improving the control design and operational effectiveness of controls over key strategic and operational risk areas.
  • Perform and communicate risk-based audit reviews of financial, operational, commercial and reputational compliance.
  • Be the person providing cost-effective recommendations to mitigate the risks and control weaknesses identified during the review process.
  • Maintain the Group’s Strategic Risk Register, as well as tracking the progress of Management’s implementation of action plans to address key risks within the Corporate Risk Register.
  • Present clear and concise findings to the Group CFO, including identification of practical recommendations and solutions.
  • Engage with key projects across the organization to ensure risks are considered and appropriately mitigated.
  • Keep up to date with significant risk and control issues, as well as trends and developments in the wider industry.

Requirements

To be successful as Head of Risk & Internal Audit you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Proven track record of success as Head of Risk & Internal Audit on a global basis.
  • The ability to swiftly facilitate engagement across the business, whilst still maintaining the discipline, impartiality and service orientation required for this position.
  • Understanding of internal controls, audit protocols and risk management frameworks.
  • The ability to keep the business safe by overseeing the execution of audit engagements end to end, including global audits across different regions.
  • Role would be best suited to someone with prior experience of working in one of the following sectors: engineering, automotive, manufacturing, construction sectors.
