Role: Head of Value Engineering Sales (Enterprise)
Client: Confidential (High-Growth Robotics Platform)
Funding: €40M Seed Round
Location: Europe (Flexible / Frequent Travel)
Reports To: CEO
Recruiter: Stax DeepTech Talent
Opportunity Overview
At Stax DeepTech Talent, we are partnering with a pioneering robotics market-maker that recently closed a €40M Seed round to restore industrial sovereignty across the West. Engineers and factory operators routinely face financial, operational, and procurement constraints that prevent viable automation projects from reaching the shop floor. Our client removes these barriers by uniting equipment financing, technical services, compliance infrastructure, and deployment support into a single, integrated platform.
Enterprise manufacturers face a major coordination challenge: high-value automation opportunities sit fragmented across business units, lines, and functions. Vendor advice is inherently biased by what each supplier sells, while traditional strategy consultants leave clients with slides rather than executable work packages. Our client’s Value Engineering practice bridges this gap—delivering independent engagement diagnoses, automation roadmaps, work-package architectures, technical sourcing, and rollout governance.
We are seeking a Head of Automation Value Engineering (Enterprise) to build and scale this practice from its first anchor accounts into a high-margin, repeatable business.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose & Structure Enterprise Mandates: Map baseline metrics (cycle time, throughput, labor, scrap, quality) across complex client environments to build ranked, decision-ready enterprise automation roadmaps.
- Decompose Outcomes into Functional Jobs: Break complex operating problems into discrete functional jobs (sensing, control, handling, safety) rather than treating projects as single equipment purchases.
- Architect Programs & Work Packages: Group functional jobs into procurable, modular work packages; establish open interfaces to prevent vendor lock-in and decouple proof-of-concept costs from scalable rollout designs.
- Qualify Supplier Markets & Lead Sourcing: Conduct structured scans and rigorous human QA on system integrators, OEMs, and technical specialists. Author issue-ready RFIs/RFPs, normalize bidder proposals, and deliver evidence-based award recommendations.
- Define Acceptance & Rollout Standards: Establish clear factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT), defect-closure frameworks, and safety/security standards to convert successful pilots into standardized multi-site rollout templates.
- Build Decision-Grade Capital Cases: Formulate C-suite financial models (ROI, total deployment cost, hurdle rates, downside risks) that connect qualified client opportunities to our client's capital and financing capabilities.
- Scale the Practice: Convert client engagements into reusable playbooks, taxonomies, and AI-enabled diagnostics. Hire, develop, and lead the initial delivery pod as unit economics justify expansion.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
