Make a Difference Where Safety Matters Most

At Trident Group, our purpose is to provide homes, support and opportunities that enable people and communities to thrive. With a diverse portfolio of homes, supported housing services and complex residential buildings, safety and compliance are fundamental to everything we do.

We are seeking an exceptional Head of Safety and Compliance to provide strategic leadership across building safety, statutory compliance, fire safety and property-related health and safety. This is a key senior leadership role with responsibility for ensuring the Group continues to meet its legal, regulatory and moral obligations to residents, colleagues and stakeholders.

About The Role

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Property, you will lead the organisation's approach to building safety, statutory compliance and assurance. You will provide expert advice to senior leaders, support robust governance arrangements and ensure the organisation can demonstrate compliance across all areas of property safety.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the Group's Building Safety and Compliance Strategy.
  • Providing assurance to the Executive Team, Board and Committees on compliance performance and risk.
  • Overseeing statutory compliance programmes including gas, electrical safety, fire, asbestos, water hygiene, lifts and CDM compliance.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act and wider health and safety legislation.
  • Leading investigations into serious incidents, audit findings and regulatory concerns.
  • Managing compliance budgets, contracts and specialist service providers.
  • Maintaining effective compliance data, systems and assurance frameworks.
  • Driving continuous improvement, risk management and regulatory readiness.
  • Building and leading a high-performing team of safety and compliance professionals.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and credible leader who can combine strategic thinking with strong operational delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
