Head of Sales

Salary: Circa £80,000 + Package
Location: Greater Manchester, Office Based

We're partnering with a well-established consumer products business to recruit a Head of Sales who can lead from the front, inspire high performance, and drive the next phase of commercial growth.

This is a key leadership appointment within a successful and ambitious organisation that has built long-standing relationships with many of the UK's leading retailers. The business has invested significantly in both its people and working environment, creating a collaborative and energetic culture where teams are encouraged to challenge, improve, and succeed.

As Head of Sales, you'll take ownership of a national sales function, leading and developing a team whilst building strong partnerships with major grocery and retail customers. You'll be responsible for driving accountability, creating clear direction, and ensuring the commercial team delivers against ambitious growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team
  • Create a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Build and execute commercial strategies that drive sustainable growth
  • Strengthen relationships across major grocery and retail customers
  • Support and develop customer growth plans across key accounts
  • Drive performance through effective forecasting, planning, and execution
  • Work closely with senior leadership to shape the future direction of the business
  • Identify opportunities to improve ways of working, processes, and team effectiveness

What We're Looking For

  • Proven leadership experience within a Head of Sales, Sales Director, or senior commercial leadership position
  • Strong experience managing major grocery retail customers
  • A track record of delivering commercial growth through both strategy and execution
  • The ability to lead with conviction and bring clarity to decision making
  • Experience building high-performing teams and driving accountability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercially astute, highly driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
