Head of Sales – BESS & Solar | London

Location: London, UK

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Head of Sales to lead the growth of our business across the UK Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Solar markets. This is a senior commercial leadership role for an individual with a strong track record of business development, strategic sales, and relationship management within the renewable energy or wider energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the company’s sales and business development strategy across BESS and Solar.
  • Lead the identification, development, and conversion of new commercial opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, IPPs, utilities, investors, EPCs, asset owners, and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and consistent revenue growth.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and oversee the sales process from initial engagement through to contract execution.
  • Identify strategic partnerships and new routes to market.
  • Provide market intelligence and commercial insight to the senior leadership team.
  • Build, manage, and develop a high-performing sales team as the business scales.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and senior-level client meetings.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a commercially minded sales leader with:

  • Significant senior-level sales or business development experience within BESS, Solar, renewable energy, or the wider energy sector.
  • A strong understanding of the UK energy market and its commercial landscape.
  • A proven track record of originating and closing complex, high-value transactions.
  • An established network across developers, utilities, IPPs, investors, EPCs, and other relevant energy-sector organisations.
  • Strong commercial negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience leading and developing sales teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing abilities.
  • A strategic, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented approach.
