Finlay Jude Associates are working with a leading manufacturer in the Construction products and Passive Fire protection industry. We're seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Sales to lead and develop the sales function for a business renowned for its innovation, product quality, and compliance expertise.
Role Overview
As the Head of Sales, you will report directly to the General Manager and take full responsibility for leading the sales strategy, driving revenue growth, managing the sales team, including specifications and customer support, and overseeing the sales budget. This is a key leadership role that requires close collaboration with Customer Services, Marketing, Technical, and Production teams to ensure commercial success and seamless customer experience.
You will serve as a brand ambassador for, representing the company at industry events, delivering seminars, and supporting product training initiatives.
The role will be predominantly based at their Rochdale site but will involve some UK-wide travel.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop the regional sales teams currently in the UK and Ireland, setting strategic goals, KPIs, and performance measures.
- Drive field sales by promoting a high-performance range of passive fire protection products to architects, contractors, installers, and other key stakeholders.
- Generate specifications, protect and track project pipeline, price effectively, and build strong relationships across the construction value chain.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support the creation of marketing tools, materials, and case studies.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities, providing timely commercial and competitive insights to senior management.
- Deliver accurate sales forecasts, define product sales targets, and analyse market demand, competitor activities, industry trends, and economic factors.
- Be accountable for national sales operations, including workforce planning, task delegation, and performance monitoring.
- Oversee the successful adoption and optimisation of sales and marketing automation tools.
- Deliver data-driven reports on pipeline health, conversion rates, lead performance, and market segmentation.
- Regularly manage and conduct CPD seminars, manage product training, and represent the brand at trade shows and industry events.
- Travel to visit project sites, key accounts, and industry locations.

Key Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in a construction, engineering, or business-related discipline.
- Background in passive fire protection, construction or similar resistive materials (e.g., fire batts, cavity barriers, collars, sealants) preferred.
- Experience in a product or customer service role involving technical product management.
- Proven experience selling to dry lining contractors, façade installers, architects, main contractors, and subcontractors.
- Experience delivering CPD presentations.
- Strong technical aptitude with ability to quickly grasp product specifications and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrates a solution-based sales approach, with a positive and customer-first attitude.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Confident in CRM, ERP, and reporting platforms; experience with Tropos and HubSpot would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with CAD drawings and technical schematics advantageous.
- Strong digital skills including MS Office; familiarity with ERP/CRM essential.
