About the Company
Aura is rebuilding how Britain plans for and manages death. More than 600,000 people die in the UK each year, and almost every family left behind is handed the same experience: an opaque, expensive and fragmented process at the worst moment of their lives. We think that is indefensible, and we are building the company that fixes it. Today we sell pre-paid funeral plans and arrange funerals at need. Tomorrow we are the UK's first holistic bereavement platform: one company handling the whole journey. We are a remote team of around thirty people, backed by institutional investment, growing revenue by more than 50% YoY. We are small enough that you will shape how things are done and large enough that your decisions move real money.
What sets us apart is that we refuse the industry's trade-off. The market has split into traditional funeral directors charging £4,000 and upwards on one side, and clinical low-cost cremation on the other. We occupy the ground in between: warm, well-priced, properly delivered service, held to standards we publish and measure. Our care team sit with families through the hardest weeks of their lives. Our sales team is the first human voice most of those families ever hear from us.
For a sales leader, the combination here is rare. The market is large, growing and structurally underserved. The leads are funded and improving. The product converts and customers rate it highly. The team is capable and has been hitting target, but it has never had a leader whose entire job is to make each person better. The ceiling on what this team can produce is nowhere close to being reached. You would inherit an engine that already runs, and be given the data, the tooling and the authority to make it exceptional. And you would do it in a business where looking after the customer and hitting the number are the same job, not competing pressures. That is not a line in a values deck. It is the commercial model.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Pay range and compensation package
£50,000 basic salary, £85,000 on-target earnings, commission uncapped. We want to be straight about the on-target figure. Alongside this: remote-first working, unlimited holidays and a genuine seat at the table in a business that is going somewhere.
