Head of Sales / Commercial Manager West Midlands | On-site | Manufacturing | Healthcare / Consumer Products

A well-established and highly reputable UK manufacturer is looking for an experienced Head of Sales / Commercial Manager to take ownership of its commercial function and drive the next phase of profitable growth, with a genuine succession planning opportunity moving forwards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven, personable, Sales Manager to join a stable and successful SME with a strong market reputation, loyal customer base and long-tenured team.

The business operates across healthcare, consumer products and retail, supplying professional and commercial markets through established distribution and wholesale channels.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead the sales function while remaining hands-on with key customers, business development and commercial strategy.

  • Leading the day-to-day sales function and small internal team
  • Managing forecasting, targets and sales performance
  • Developing key national account relationships
  • Driving revenue growth across existing and new channels
  • Identifying new routes to market and commercial opportunities
  • Developing internal and external sales teams
  • Managing relationships with retailers, distributors and wholesalers
  • Working closely with Operations and Technical teams to ensure effective delivery and compliance
  • Contributing to wider commercial strategy and business growth

About You

We are looking for a hands-on, commercially focused sales leader with:

  • Proven experience in senior sales, commercial or business development leadership
  • Experience within a manufacturing, product-based or consumer products business
  • A strong track record of managing key/national accounts and delivering revenue growth
  • Experience selling through retailers, distributors, wholesalers or healthcare channels
  • Experience leading and developing sales teams
  • The ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on
  • A collaborative and credible leadership style
  • Down to earth persona, enjoys going on the shop floor, able to build rapport with the wider team and customers alike

Experience within consumer healthcare, OTC products, medical devices, healthcare products, FMCG or similar sectors would be highly advantageous, particularly experience selling through wholesalers/distributors into key national accounts.

Location

West Midlands – fully on-site, with travel to customers as required.
